On-Board Telescope
The space telescopes developed by Bertin Winlight are designed to meet versatile observation uses, from orbit, toward both the Earth and the sky.
The TEO Telescope was designed as part of the France 2030 program in order to address the growing needs for observation from orbit. It illustrates Bertin Winlight’s expertise in high precision optics and space engineering, by offering a unique solution capable of addressing several application domains such as Earth observation, space astronomy, and Space Situational Awareness (SSA).
Designed without an integrated focal plane, TEO telescopes are intended to be coupled with a camera (such as the CamSight EO) or an external sensor enabling the acquisition of images or data tailored to the requirements of each mission. This modular architecture ensures a high degree of integration flexibility on different satellite platforms, while respecting the environmental constraints of the space domain in terms of mass, stability, and robustness.
Key-benefits
Compatible with multiple sensors and cameras, including the CamSight EO solution.
Modular architecture facilitating integration on various satellite platforms.
Versatile solution adapted to multiple applications.
Applications
• Space Astronomy: Observation outside the atmosphere requiring high image quality and excellent optical stability for cosmological, stellar, and planetary observation.
• Earth Observation: Optical imaging from orbit for observation, comparison, detection, or measurement.
• Space Situational Awareness (SSA): Detection, localization, and tracking of objects in orbit and space debris.
