Following the Chernobyl disaster in 1986, French authorities decided to equip air quality monitoring networks near nuclear power plants with a reliable and independent radioactive measurement system.

In 2015, the question of replacing the air monitoring beacons arose. The Hauts-de-France Region and the Urban Community of Dunkirk wanted Atmo Hauts-de-France to take on this case. Bertin Instruments was chosen to accompany the association in the implementation of this new equipment.

Discover in our new application note how Bertin’s  spectrometric probe, SpectraTRACER Air/Soil, determines the dose rate, as well as the activity concentration.
