Bertin Technologies, Hemeria and Prométhée Earth Intelligence announce a major strategic breakthrough in the field of Earth observation, with a complete, sovereign offering based on Hemeria’s HP-EOS satellite range equipped with the SPEO optical payload developed by Bertin Technologies, which will be operated in the very-high-rate constellation revisited by Promethée Earth Intelligence. This solution is part of an industrial plan based on strong partnerships and synergies, mobilizing major companies, ETIs, SMEs and leading French startups, to meet the challenges of performance, reliability and technological sovereignty.

State-of-the-art, sovereign technology for small satellite constellations

Prométhée Earth Intelligence has chosen Bertin Technologie as its reference payload supplier for its Japetus constellation. The SPEO payload (VNIR – visible and near infrared – and SWIR – short-wave infrared) is designed to meet the growing need for very high-resolution multispectral imaging, while respecting the constraints of mass, volume and energy consumption specific to the small satellites to be supplied by Hemeria.

An integrated, agile French industrial model

This offer is based on a 100% French value chain, supported by experienced and complementary industrial players:

  • Bertin Technologies, with 35 years of expertise in optical and optronic space systems, designs and manufactures payloads using proprietary technologies covering the entire optical spectrum.
  • Hemeria, a leader in the small satellite sector, guarantees seamless, optimized payload integration and a unique satellite platform solution in terms of power and agility.
  • Prométhée Earth Intelligence is an operator of Earth observation services, providing mission integration and data enhancement through a multi-source, aggregative digital platform powered by an AI-optimized GEOINT analysis engine.

A sovereign, competitive, ready-to-use solution

This solution is part of a strategy to consolidate the French Newspace industry, supporting national innovation and reinforcing France’s strategic autonomy in the space sector. It offers a credible, high-performance and immediately operational approach to the most complex Earth observation missions. Bertin Technologies is in line to ensure the first delivery of SPEO payloads to Hemeria as early as 2026, in order to guarantee a sustained delivery rate of small satellites and thus effectively meet the growing needs of Prométhée Earth Intelligence.
