Improving worker radiation protection

The radiation exposure of workers must be controlled in line with WHO recommendations, with professional radiameters or survey meters suitable for any kind of working conditions.

Radiation exposure is a serious concern for people working in the nuclear industry, but also for scrap dealers, boarding controllers, employees working with radioactive sources in the medical field and for first responders. Work in a radioactive environment is defined according to current norms and follows the ALARA principle: the dose received by individuals should be as low as reasonably achievable.

This is why workers exposed to radioactivity have to check the dose rate on-site, and respect the WHO international recommendations. Moreover the measurement of the dose rate by the workers needs to be done using professional instruments, with accurate sensors and very robust housings suitable for all types of working conditions.
