Test & calibration benches

Ground test equipment such as Optical Ground Support Equipment (OGSE) and Mechanical Ground Support Equipment (MGSE)) plays a crucial role in the qualification of instruments onboard satellites, which must deliver optimal performance despite extreme conditions of use.

Based on a specifications document, Bertin Winlight designs and develops optical and mechanical test benches, all the way to the assembly, integration, testing, and validation phases (AITV). This ground test equipment enables the qualification, testing, and validation of optical performance and mechanical stability of instruments such as imagers, telescopes, or radar sondes.

Bertin Winlight manufactures optical and optronic testing and calibration benches for the alignment, control, and qualification of instruments used in space or military equipment, such as satellites, etc. To ensure optimal optical quality for this ground equipment, Bertin Winlight’s teams employ the most advanced interferometry techniques, as well as molecular adhesion technology on low-expansion materials.

Due to their extreme precision and reliability, ground-based means (OGSE) are fundamental and have the mission of validating flight instruments.

Bertin Winlight is capable of manufacturing, among other things:

• Hyper-stable telescopes by combining materials with low thermal expansion coefficients,
• Telescope simulators, particularly using molecular adhesion technology on low-expansion materials to achieve hyper-stable optical functions,
• Simulators for testing the focusing of telescopes (using the Hartmann method).

To ensure optimal optical quality for these systems, we utilize the most advanced interferometry techniques and molecular adhesion technology on low-expansion materials.
