At Bertin Technologies, we are proud to support projects and people who embody our values: courage, team spirit, confidence and talent. Aware of our army’s unwavering commitment to serving our country, we take action to help wounded servicemen and women. This year, we have chosen to sponsor motorcycle champion Thibaut Foray for his 2025 season.

Thibaut is a former soldier whose life was turned upside down by an accident while on mission in the Sahel in 2022. Despite this tragic event, he was able to bounce back and transform his love of motorcycles into an inspiring career as a pilot.

We met Thibaut, who shared with us his exceptional story and his project, of which we are the proud partners this year.

Let’s find out more about his journey, his ambitions and his ability to overcome obstacles with unfailing determination.

His path to becoming a motorcycle racer

Thibaut Foray, a former soldier, saw his life turned upside down on January 18, 2022 when he jumped on a mine with his vehicle in the Sahel, losing both his legs. After the accident, Thibaut woke up from a two-day coma and, with the support of his wife, looked for a new way forward. He naturally turned to his passion for motorcycling. An enthusiast since 2017, he had already started competing in 2019. Thanks to Ducati Bayonne, who adapted his bike, he was back on the track in October 2022, just a few months after his release from hospital. In 2023, he won his first race at Le Mans in the French PMR championship, finishing runner-up. In 2024, he won the French PRM championship and now competes in the European Handi Championship and the French Endurance Championship alongside the able-bodied.

Discovering his passion for motorcycles

Thibaut Foray inherited his passion for motorcycles from his father. At 13, he was tinkering on his cousins’ mopeds, and at 14, he bought his first scooter, which he financed and maintained himself. He began racing scooters before gradually switching to motorcycles. Joining the army gave him the financial stability he needed to buy his first motorcycle and start racing. Eventually, he was able to afford a Ducati motorcycle, marking the start of his collaboration with Ducati Bayonne and his racing career.

His objectives and challenges for the coming season in the French and European Handi championships

For the coming season, Thibaut is aiming for the title of European Handi Champion, having already won two races in this championship. At the same time, he’s aiming to finish in the TOP 15 of the French championship, or even in the TOP 10. He also hopes to have a good season, so as to qualify for next year’s 24 Hours of Barcelona. His ultimate long-term goal is to take part in the 24 Hours of Le Mans or the Bol d’Or, two prestigious motorcycle endurance races.

The importance of sponsors and support from Bertin Technologies

Sponsors play a crucial role in Thibaut’s project, as motorcycle racing is extremely expensive. Thanks to the support of Bertin Technologies, Thibaut is able to take part in the European Handi Championship. Bertin Technologies finances part of the motorcycle, parts and competition entries, enabling Thibaut to pursue his ambitious goals.

His advice for meeting our own challenges

Thibaut encourages everyone to always believe in their dreams, even in the face of adversity. After his accident, he was able to bounce back and realize a new dream. He insists on the importance of believing in one’s abilities, which enabled him to give himself the necessary means and find the motivation every day to achieve his goals.
