Air Activity Monitoring & Sampling

Air activity monitoring and sampling are two different methods of investigating air pollution caused by radioactive substances, which can have a serious impact on human health and the environment.

Radioactive substances can be present in the air in various forms, including particulates (e.g. dust, corrosion products, fission products and actinides), vapours (e.g. HTO) and gases (e.g. iodine and noble gases).

A range of air activity monitoring and sampling devices is offered by Bertin VF Nuclear. These devices are optimised for various applications in the nuclear and medical industries, as well as for environmental monitoring.

Air monitoring uses electronic devices to provide real-time readings of radioactive contaminants in the air. Air sampling involves trapping radioactive pollutants on a suitable filter over a period of time, which is then sent to a laboratory for analysis to identify and quantify specific radionuclides.
