France has taken a significant step forward in protecting young workers from the risks associated with ionizing radiation. Decree No. 2026-260, published in the French Official Journal (Journal Officiel) on April 10, 2026, strengthens employer obligations by establishing individual dosimetric monitoring as the new regulatory standard.

What this means for employers?

Under this new French regulation, employers operating in radiation-controlled environments must:

  • Provide each young worker exposed to radiation with a functional, compliant personal dosimeter
  • Ensure continuous monitoring of radiation doses received, in accordance with the ALARA principle
  • Monitor radiation levels at workstations
  • Ensure rigorous traceability of exposures, in collaboration with radiation protection advisors and occupational health services

Bertin Nuclear’s solutions to meet this requirement

  • Saphydose Gamma i: An isotropic electronic dosimeter designed for exposed workers. Accurate, rugged, and built for field use. It measures the dose received by each individual in real time.
  • Skydose: An operational teledosimetry system for remote, simultaneous monitoring of your entire team. Immediate alerts when thresholds are exceeded, maximum responsiveness.
  • RiumBox: A fixed ambient dosimetry sensor, the RiumBox continuously measures ionizing radiation levels at workstations. An essential complement to personal dosimetry to ensure comprehensive monitoring of the work environment.
  • RiumApp / RiumWeb: Centralized management of your dosimetry, from your smartphone or web browser. Exposure histories, dashboards, regulatory reports: everything you need to manage your compliance on a daily basis.
