[WHITE PAPER] Best practices for the evaluation of decontamination with Coriolis Air Samplers

Context

The composition and concentration of bioaerosols in the air are critical parameters to consider for the welfare of animals and humans. From healthcare facilities to the food industry, among many other work spaces, the monitoring of bioaerosols and the efficiency of their decontamination is key for the maintenance of a safe work environment and sustainable food production.

According to the type of bioaerosol of concern, there is a wide range of decontamination techniques that can be used, such as electrochemically activated solutions (ECAS), ozone treatments and air purifiers. However, the benefit of any process dedicated to the removal or inactivation of airborne microorganisms also needs to be evaluated.

Monitoring bioaerosols by air sampling is one of the most efficient methods available. It is fast, quantifiable and flexible to multiple microbiological techniques for the detection of potential pathogens. Our range of Coriolis air samplers has been proven to be a useful tool for air monitoring (virus, bacteria and fungi detection), and assessing the efficiency of decontamination protocols
