Micro RNAs are small naturally occurring non-coding ribonucleic acids, with sizes between 18 and 40 nucleotides (nts). Found in plants, animals and viruses, they have been proven to play a significant role in RNA silencing and the regulation of gene expression. As a result, interest in smaller RNA species, such as miRNA, has increased.

In this application note, discover how multiple total RNA samples, including miRNA and other small RNA molecules, were purified from fresh frozen liver tissue samples using the Precellys 24 Touch and Precellys lysing tubes.
