Live cell imaging is a key method to study cells, protein expression and a variety of processes and molecular interactions. Among its many applications, live cell imaging plays a major role in understanding the mechanisms underlying cell migration, cell polarization and apoptosis. For example, the observation of neuronal lamellipodia and filopodia over time has enabled researchers to model neurite outgrowth with unprecedented accuracy.

Live observation of cells can be challenging as it relies on the optimization of several key parameters such as the choice of fluorescent probes, the level of cell confluency in the sample, the composition of the cell culture medium… InCellis offers an innovative approach to fully qualify cell culture samples and optimize key parameters before starting a full length, multi-day assay.

Here we present an InCellis timelapse of 786-0 cells which stably express protein H2B-RFP (histone 2B–red fluorescent protein). Different steps of the mitosis process can be visualized. These images has been provided by Nicolas Dorvault, INSERM U981, Institut Gustave Roussy, Villejuif, France.
