Three French mid-sized companies are combining their expertise to offer a sovereign and integrated protection solution for armored vehicles against drone attacks: the S-KAPS Counter Drone system, unveiled at Eurosatory 2026.

A threat redefining the battlefield

The proliferation of military drones represents one of the most significant developments in modern warfare. Ubiquitous, agile and increasingly sophisticated, they pose a direct threat to armored vehicles and their crews. In response, the need to develop effective and integrated protection solutions has become an unavoidable operational priority.

A sovereign partnership in service of French defense

It is in this context that Bertin Winlight (a brand of Bertin Technologies), LACROIX Defense and MC2 Technologies have combined their expertise to develop a joint response: the S-KAPS Counter Drone system. Three French mid-sized companies, three complementary areas of expertise, and one sovereign solution tailored to the current challenges of the modern battlefield. This industrial alliance demonstrates the ability of the French defense industry to innovate collectively in response to emerging threats.

A multi-sensor architecture for 360° protection

The S-KAPS Counter Drone system is built on three perfectly complementary technological components:

  • PeriSight Top Attack (Bertin Winlight): a passive infrared optronics solution providing 360° coverage around the armored vehicle
  • HADDES (MC2 Technologies): an autonomous passive RF detector, capable of identifying signals emitted by drones
  • S-KAPS (LACROIX Defense): an intelligent protection bubble ensuring threat neutralization

Together, these three components form a coherent and highly effective detection, identification and neutralization chain.
